Radhika’s new stint as the head of a sales and marketing department had her questioning the method and motive of her current team. She was wary of their lack of motivation and how they undermined her. Meanwhile, she was handed a resignation by one hardworking team member, Ashutosh, who was she was actually looking to promote, based on his skill set and the confidence he demonstrated in taking up new projects. She was sad to see him go and spoke to a senior team member, Komal, regarding retaining him with a promotion. With Komal being biased due to personal rifts with Ashutosh, Radhika was left with a terrible impression of him. She let this new information cloud over her gut feeling about him, surely a senior resource couldn’t be wrong!
Everything being fresh in her mind, Radhika sat for a meeting with the team to discuss new strategies. With Ashutosh holding contrasting ideas that came across as heatedly opinionated, an argument ensued. Being personally affronted, Radhika saw it as an act of rebellion and decided to set an example for the rest of the team by humiliating him and dismissing him without letting him finish his notice period. Intuitively, she knew she was wrong in doing so, however, her active logic showed this to be an opportunity. Not taking time to contemplate by letting her heart decide, she took this haphazard decision. This left her guilty and Ashutosh reeling from his bitter experience with the organization.
When faced with situations where you’ve got to make a decision, no ONE option can be used. You cannot simply use your mind to check for sensibility, keeping emotions and human equations aside. Neither can you only consider those and ignore the consequences from having made an illogical decision. What’s most beneficial is to incorporate all three in a way that help make a balanced yet informed decision.

By doing this in intervals you will tap into your essence and will be able to guide yourself, keeping everyone’s best interests at heart. Upon achievement of this, your logic will step up and balance it out by taking decisions in a pattern that will keep the system intact and rolling. Should there still be a discrepancy, last but not the least, your heart will be the final authority.
